MyPack Portal Upgrade

Update:  10/10/21 2:30 PM:  Maintenance is complete.  The MyPack Portal and all integrated systems are available.  Users will need to clear their browser cache or contact the help desk (help.ncsu.edu) if you experience issues.

The MyPack portal will be upgraded on Sunday, October 10, starting at 6:00 AM.  The portal will not be available during the upgrade, until approximately 3:00 PM.

Users with bookmarks or external links that reference the MyPack portal will need to replace those links after the upgrade.  The main url, mypack.ncsu.edu, will be unaffected, as will any “Go” links (i.e. links that begin with go.ncsu.edu). 

Most MyPack users will not notice any changes.  Users who have created a custom homepage (“My Homepage”) in the portal will be prompted when they log in for the first time to decide whether they want to keep their custom home pages or discard them.  They will get the following message, and should simply select “Restore” to keep their custom home pages.

The MyPack Portal has been upgraded.  Your portal customizations were preserved, but any custom Homepage must be restored.  Our records indicate that you have a custom Homepage that will need to be restored if you wish to keep it. Click the ‘Restore Homepage Tiles’ button below to complete this process.

All other customizations and favorites will be preserved by the upgrade automatically.

Students and faculty/staff who use the Student Information System (SIS) will see a slight change if they use the right side navigation menu (NavBar) to navigate to SIS pages.  Before the upgrade, the NavBar shows the “Student Information Systems” as  a folder to navigate to SIS pages:

After the upgrade, the main “Student Information Systems” link is replaced with the individual links or folders for SIS below the dashed line (Faculty Services, Admin Services, etc.)  [Note: With this portal upgrade, the student system now “hosts” the portal, so users are already in SIS when they select the NavBar.]
